From an article titled "Why we should read literature? Reading and the Christian Vocation" which I will use in the classroom in September.
"The responsibility to serve God suggests that we must do more with our time on the earth than just wait to go to heaven. Too often we secure our salvation and then focus our energies on establishing a personally comfortable way of life. The Bible teaches, however, that we should carry out our responsibility to God by working to establish a world that would please and praise him. In so doing, we demonstrate our love and obedience to God as well as our love and care for our neighbor."
