Skating on Thin Ice

Every once in a while something happens when it just feels like the world is as God intended it to be--today we had a chance to play outdoor icehockey and I skated with my kids on a pond. The fact that we were skating and playing hockey outdoors was obviously sweet, but it just seemed like such a pure moment. As I took pictures and watched, I was struck by how joy-filled everyone seemed. And so many cars that drove by slowed down, pointed, and so many people smiled and laughed watching people skate on a pond. Adding to the joy was that my brother-in-law Mike, who has been in the hospital for a number of days and was just released, stopped by and gave a wave. It was sweet to see him.

The last 3 days I've played about 7hrs of ice hockey..I love it. I can't believe you got the chance to do so outside on the coast.
