I always love the Thanksgiving weekend. The whole weekend turns into some good feast days. Brother Andrew and family now live a little closer after moving into his first house last weekend. Good friend Anna is leaving for YWAM on Friday so we went there yesterday after church for some dead cow on a bun. The last couple of years it has also meant going to the Murrayville Pub on Sunday night to celebrate niece Elise's birthday, followed by some karokee well into the night. I went to the pub and represented, came home and Bev went over and did some singing (which usually involves some/lots of Bruce Springsteen.) Good times, good times.
Today most of my motley family is coming over for a bit of this and a bit of that. A Turkey could be involved, maybe some stuffing. Thankful for lots of things, but mostly thankful for living in community with people who we love and love us and our children, no questions asked. Lots of grace, lots of forgiveness, an overabundance of love. Knowing that this is not the case for lots of people this weekend, I am reminded not to take any of it for granted.
